Evidence of a successful wardrobe

My new stylish lifestyle has reeped it's first reward and started earning it's keep!

Yesterday I was complimented by a friend on my choice of wrap dress whilst out for some birthday celebration drinks. She noted that I and another friend were looking stylish and suitably dressed for the venue but she had failed to deliver by turning up in a stripy t-shirt, mini skirt and flip-flops combo. I think her outfit was tres cute for the beach but perhaps not for an evening at pubs and bars. Thus proving that appropriate dress for the occasion counts towards style. This also goes without saying when applying make-up. A very pretty girl was at the bar and although seeming to have applied immaculate make-up it did appear to have been done so with a trowl! Less is definately more with make-up for most social events. It is a great skill to be able to gage the level of event and dress appropriately. I always go by the rule of dressing by the venue and your own high standards rather than doing the age old teenage angst thing of phoning girlfriends to check if their wearing a skirt or trousers! I believe that someone who owns style does not need to judge their dressing ability against their friends or co-workers.

Later that night I had a change of plans. I was going to be dropped off at home by my boyfriend but, due to a little extra white wine and not wanting to go home to my parents tipsy, we phoned ahead and let them know I was staying round his. A quick five minute sneak in and out the door was all I required to locate my toiletries, make-up, overnight bag and clothes for the following morning. As I was incredibly organised I could now just pick out a hanger from the wardrobe and know that the tee and sweater hanging from it were not only clean but matched!

A new style lesson has been learnt here. Know your venue, if you can dress appropriately for an event you will be instantly more stylish!
