6 weeks and time for a trim!

The essense of style lies on top of everey womans head. Your hair is your crowning glory so look after it with regular 6 weekly trims. I'm going today and this is what I'm asking for...

1. A low side parting - this will give a bit of width to my narrow long face shape.

2. A few long layers - to give a bit of interest, my hair is fine so this always thickens it up.

3. Keeping the length - I'm trying to grow it just below my shoulders so I don't want too much off the length, just the split ends and enough to give it a nice shape.

4. A fringe - an angled one that sweeps to the side and blends in with the rest of my hair. This will balance my high forehead and draw attention to my eyes.

5. Blow dry - no straightening irons for me as my hair is very straight but a good blow dry will combat any kinks/fizz and give my limp locks lots of voloume.

I'm not getting any colour done today as I can't afford it. Usually in the spring I get blonde highlights but in recent years I've been doing this too much so I am giving my hair a chance to grow them out and recover. To cover up the roots I get a semi-permanent put in which is a little darker than my natural colour. This gives it a good shine and condition. I can't afford to have the semi done at the hairdressers either so I had a go at home colouring.

I have to say I was really pleased with the results. I used Clairol Nice n Easy semi-permanent in a dark rich reddish brown. This was the shade darker than my natural colour so it would show up well and last longer. It was easy to use and gave my hair a glossy finish and the colour has only just faded six weeks later. I will probably buy some more today.
